Stuff That Generally Kicks My Ass

Progressive metal like Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Superior, Savatage, Fates Warning, Angra, Symphony-X, Vitalij Kuprij, and Sonata Arctica; progressive death (!) like Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Edge of Sanity, Therion, Samael and Pan-thy-Monium; death- and black-metal like Emperor and Cradle of Filth, industrial and/or goth material from our good friends in Godhead, and great hard-to-classify material from Ozric Tentacles, King's X, Nightwish, Pain of Salvation, Dead Can Dance and my favorite CD ever, Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine.

Check out my SeismicRadio and WREKage playlists for an idea of what I'm liking like right now. :)

Friday Nights, 10pm - 6am, The Sweet Smell of MMMetal

Every week I head down to the Georgia Tech campus and WREK-FM, to help deejay on the WREKage metal show. One of the station's most popular formats since no-one else in town plays this stuff, the show is a staple of the local thrash/death/metal scene and has been for over twenty years! My roommate Tim and I have known the show's oft-changing hosts now for several years. After the show there comes our traditional pilgrimage to a nearby 24-hour restaurant, usually either City Cafe or Chinese Buddha. :)

WREK-FM streams via MP3 on the Web, so you can listen in and hear us on the air in near-CD quality, whether during the show or for one full week afterward! Click here and then go to "Listen to WREK." You can compare what you're hearing with our most recent playlist, available under "WREKage radio" on the site.

During the show, you can even call us at 404-894-2468 with your requests.
